Alicia started volunteering in middle school in a peer tutoring program assisting students with reading. In high school, she participated in peer mentoring classes in each of the special education classrooms which made things very clear for the future. She graduated with Honors from Ball State University in 2001 and started teaching Special Education Life Skills in Brownsburg Middle School. While there, she created a strong peer mentoring program and one of the first middle school Best Buddies programs in Indiana. She won Teacher of the Year twice while also coaching JV and Varsity Softball for 10 years. Alicia returned to Ball State to earn her Master's Degree in Special Education with emphasis in Autism and ABA, in 2012. She started working as a Behavior Consultant part-time while teaching, but transitioned to full-time the following year. After 10 years working for a local company, she decided to create her own business.
Bingham Consulting, LLC began in June 2022 offering Behavior Management Services with plans to add more Medicaid Waiver services soon. Alicia enjoys working with individuals with all types of differences but tends to lean toward those who have high intensity behaviors, expressive communication needs and higher needs across all environments. She is passionate about ensuring all individuals have a voice and are listened to so they can lead meaningful and purposeful lives of their choosing.
Alicia has been volunteering as the Co-Director of Challenger Baseball for the past 14 years. This league pairs athletes with and without disabilities to play the game safely and they all have a great time! When a few of the athletes graduated high school and could no longer play in the kid league, Alicia created an Adult Challenger League that has been active for the last 5 years. Alicia enjoys spending time outdoors, watching and playing all kinds of sports and most of all, just spending time with her family. She and her husband of 21 years have a daughter, Shelby, who is a sophomore at Purdue University majoring in Wildlife Sciences and a son, Cole, who is a passionate drummer and junior at Brownsburg High School.
